NJFSC Mission Statement

The mission of the New Jersey Fire Safety Council is to achieve Municipal resiliency through wildfire preparedness and prevention efforts. These efforts are designed to protect residents, reduce property damage and conserve our natural resources.

We are a statewide organization that provides leadership, education, and support for Municipalities, other local boards and public officials, and seeks to form partnerships with other organizations to support and advocate for wildfire preparedness.

The NJ Fire Safety Council was formed in 2015 to coordinate wildfire preparedness efforts statewide in cooperation with the NJ Forest Fire Service. The NJFSC is part of the Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network, a national network of NPO’s, Agencies and people dedicated to reducing the risk of wildfire and create fire resilient communities. The NJFSC will be the HUB for local fire safety councils established in municipalities throughout the state for outreach, education and training materials as well as funding opportunities. The NJFSC is made up of outside the box thinkers with enough experience to understand how to get things done and the callous tissue earned along with that understanding. We want the website to reflect who we are. No nonsense, committed individuals that want to make a difference by building trust from the ground up.
